Looking for a truly unique tourist attraction in the Canadian mountains? The Revelstoke Garlic Festival is an event you won’t want to miss. Held annually in our picturesque mountain community this event is a ‘spicy’ celebration of garlic, food and local produce. You don’t need to be a dedicated foodie to get stuck into some delicious garlicky food.
The Garlic Festival runs 13th and 14th of September at Queen Elizabeth Park, on Ninth Street in Revelstoke. Just walk down MacKenzie Ave and turn left on Ninth Street. An easy walk from almost anywhere in town.
Garlic Galore
This festival is all about celebrating the humble yet mighty garlic. You’ll find 60+ local vendors offering garlic-inspired creations, from freshly grown garlic bulbs to creative garlic spreads, sauces, and even desserts. If you don’t already know how versatile this ingredient can be, the festival will surprise and delight you with its imaginative culinary offerings.
Games and Entertainment
It’s not just about the food. Experience an authentic slice of Canada you won’t forget with live music, workshops and games. Play Chicken Bingo! Win prizes by guessing where the chicken will…err…”go”. We have local legends telling stories about garlic folklore. Take part in workshops to recreate dishes back home. A perfect day out for you and the family.
History and Heritage
The festival is in the safe and capable hands of Revelstoke’s Local Food Initiative. There’s a donation of $5 asked at the entrance to the event but kids and seniors are invited free. The Local Food Initiative (LFI) aims to connect local people with a vibrant, resilient and an accessible food system. This festival is a great way to raise funds and awareness to support their important work.
What makes the Revelstoke Garlic Festival truly special is its deep connection to the local community. The event celebrates sustainable farming, locally grown produce, and the hardworking growers and producers who make it all happen. It’s a chance to meet the people behind your food and connect with others who share your appreciation for local living.

Plan your visit
Revelstoke is a popular year-round destination, and accommodations tend to fill up quickly during festival season. Whether you’re staying in a cozy bed-and-breakfast or a family-friendly hotel, it’s wise to reserve your spot in advance.
Parking downtown can get busy. It’s also much nicer to walk or bike to events like this. The local transit system and Resort Shuttle service are both available if you’re staying a little further from the park.
